Negative: I recently stayed at “Stylish Brisbane Apartment with Pool Sauna and Gym” in the Avani Queens Wharf building, booked through Booking.com. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the way the booking is managed by the private host caused significant extra costs and stress. Because it was not a direct Avani Queens Wharf hotel booking, normal hotel inclusions did not apply: parking was not included and I had to organise and pay for my own parking (around AUD 210), there were delays and issues with key collection on arrival, and when I accidentally locked the door with the key inside I was charged AUD 150 just to have it opened, a fee that hotel guests booked directly under Avani would not face. For the total amount paid (room price plus parking and lock‑out fee), I feel I could have had a better value, more straightforward stay by booking directly with Avani Queens Wharf or another property where parking and service are clearly included; I would not book with this host again and would recommend other guests avoid this management and instead book directly with the hotel.

Positive: Location is good, close to the city centre, don’t need a car.
Negative: You have to go to a secondary location to pick the keys up and drop them off. While it is close by, it is also really annoying to have to do that while dragging suitcases around the city. Also, although the property is a two-bedroom apartment that is advertised for 4 people, only one key is provided. This affected what we could do on our trip as we were constantly having to figure out who would have the key and when they’d be back. Asked for another key and was offered an option for one of our party to return the key to the EzyMart lockbox, message the owners to change the code, then the others could get a new code and pick it up later… such a hassle. They also asked us to take out the rubbish etc before leaving. If it were budget accommodation I wouldn’t complain but considering the price, I would say just book one of the many hotels in the CBD area.

Great apartment at the Queens Wharf
Positive: I loved the location, ease of key retrieval and key drop off. The view from apartment is spectacular day or night. The bed was comfortable, everything we needed was provided in the room. The Host Joel is very good. The best thing is this apartment location is close to star hotel, dining options at queens wharf, south bank pools, ferries wheel and Queen Street mall.
Negative: We had an unfortunate experience on our last day when somehow our key card was locked and we could not access our room for two hours. The staff working in the evening were rude and didn't help us much despite the host requesting them to give us access. It took 2 hours before they could action the request. Very sad considering we had a great couple of days.
